My path to founding an AI coaching company began nearly 15 years ago with a central question: "What can unlock people’s potential, especially in environments where traditional support systems and resources are lacking?" This simple question has animated a journey from community health work in Rio de Janeiro’s favelas to building an accelerator in Kenya to executive coaching for founders & executives at growth-stage start-ups across the world.
Working in informal settlements in Brazil, South Africa, and Mozambique ignited my passion. My work included a Fulbright, strategy consulting, community health work, and human rights research, all aiming to understand how communities could drive their own change. Moving to Kenya, I found an answer in the value of supporting visionary leaders: there, I built and ran an accelerator that worked with hundreds of entrepreneurs and created thousands of jobs.
After several years as CEO, I discovered firsthand the transformative power of coaching. My coach helped me recover from a paralyzing bout of perfectionism, impostor syndrome, and a fear of confrontation.
I pursued formal training and certification and went to Stanford GSB to offer others the same support that had been so meaningful for me. Now for five years, I've been an executive coach to founders and C-level executives at growth-stage startups, initially attached to a VC fund and then building a word-of-mouth practice.
Along the way, I kept hearing the same thing from clients: organizations need personalized growth and learning across the board, not just in their C-suite. But none of their current solutions were fitting the bill. Traditional performance management and learning systems are disconnected from one another, so learning feels impersonal and irrelevant, while performance management feels like a distracting, time-consuming box to tick.
